Lightning Conductor Web Part and Custom Columns
As far as we know there is not another aggregation tool that allows you to display and filter upon custom columns simply by setting properties in the tool pane. The Lightning Conductor Web Part however does. You can display Custom Columns in our Roll Up Web Part by clicking an icon which pulls all of the Custom Columns from the selected List or Library type or Content Type. The Custom Columns are then immediately available to display in the SP Grid View or choose in the Filter Properties.
The below image shows the highlighted Custom Columns available in the SP Grid View tool pane for a Document Library.
Once you have setup your view, you can use them to filter on as shown below:
