Discover SharePoint Permissions
SharePoint Web Applications can be large consisting of hundreds or thousands of sites in hundreds of Site Collections. Each site can contain a number of lists and thousands of list items. If you want to simply find out what permissions a user has to what objects within your web applications, the task is so huge that it is almost impossible. Likewise if you want to see who has permissions to a specific object within SharePoint.
DeliverPoint allows you to report on objects in two different ways. You can report on who has what permissions to a specific object including a Site, List, Folder, or List Item. Or you can report on what objects within my web application does user x have permission to.
When using nested domain groups, and SharePoint groups, the task is very difficult to perform without the use of DeliverPoint. Below is a report showing what permissions Phill has to objects within a site collection. Note that we can also see how Phill received this permission.

As well as reporting on a specific user, you can include all users but filter by permission type. For example, show me everyone who has Contribute Permissions to objects in my Web Application as shown below:

This report can be run not only on Sites, but also Lists, Folder and List Items as shown below:
