Transfer Permissions
DeliverPoint 2007 allows you to transfer SharePoint permissions from one user to another or one Domain Group to another throughout your Web Application or Site Collection. In many enterprise organizations you will find that Web Applications can contain hundreds of site collections and often each site collection can consist of hundreds or thousands of sites. Some of these sites will inherit permissions from their parent sites, but some will also have unique SharePoint permissions. Transferring SharePoint permissions from user to another is especially useful within an organization when a user retires from the company or changes roles within the organization. The user who replaces them will need to inherit the same permissions. Performing this task manually is time consuming and also difficult to work out when permissions are often granted via nested groups.
