Remove Dead Active Directory Accounts from SharePoint

Dead Account Removal

A dead account is a user account in SharePoint which is no longer listed within the Active Directory. Within a large organization, it is a big task to maintain users within SharePoint and also within Active Directory.  Users can be Blocked, Disabled or removed from Active Directory, but still be present throughout SharePoint where they have been added to SharePoint groups, assigned permissions within sites, lists, folders, and list items directly or via a SharePoint group.  If a user has been removed from the Active Directory, you can run a report through DeliverPoint which will display all of the dead accounts, allowing you to select each one that you wish to remove.  Below you can see the option to run the Dead Account removal process.
