Key Performance Indicator for the BDC

BDC – KPI Web Part

The BDC – KPI Web Part extends Microsoft Office SharePoint Server by providing you with the ability to create Key Performance Indicators on BDC Data.  Currently Microsoft offer KPI’s for Microsoft Excel workbooks, Manually entered figures, SQL Analysis Services, and SharePoint Lists.  Since Microsoft also provide you with a way to link to external business data via the Business Data Catalog, we at Lightning Tools realised that users of MOSS would also require KPI’s on Business Data.
Through the use of a SharePoint list, you can configure your KPI’s which then display in a BDC KPI Web Part.  Currently, you can base your KPI’s on the number of rows returned in a BDC Entity, or based on the Average or the Sum of a particular column.
